Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) Practitioner Certificate

Non Violent Resistance (NVR) is an innovative form of systemic family therapy, which has been developed for aggressive, violent, controlling and self-destructive behaviour in children & young people. 

This 3.5 day NVR programme provides a model of practice for professionals working with vulnerable children, young people and families to address agressive, controlling and coersive behaviours. The structured model of NVR taught promotes a boundaried, connective and therapeutic caring/parenting approach.


By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Understand the context of an NVR approach within their workplace
  • Have explored the NVR model and processes
  • Have practiced NVR formulation for intervention
  • Practice the use of de-escalation and self-regulation skills
  • Developed skills in implementing an NVR support approach
